2013 - a year full of variety
2013 has been a year where Island Shipping has undertaken a variety of new projects all around the coasts of Ireland and the UK.
The year started with our 17 metre CTVs on charter to Centrica in the North Sea. Since then they have worked for EDF on Teeside Offshore Windfarm and have been assisting the Irish Coastguard with winch training for the new S92 SAR Helicopter. Our tugs and multicats have been engaged in a range of environmental survey, towage, dive and marine construction support jobs. The Island Kestrel assisted with the salvage of the MOD 70 trimaran, Spindrift and towed the trimaran to Northern France. The Kestrel has also been engaged in diverse projects such as laying a subsea water pipe to an island, towage of a jackup barge, harbour remedial works, tidal device installation, dredging and dive support and buoy maintenance.
With Island Shipping's new Workboat Operations Training Programme launched and under development, there are lots of building blocks being put down for the future. Wishing you every success and happiness for 2014.
